Why should you stay away from aluminum in deodorants/antiperspirants? Our skin is thought to be a barrier for our internal bodies, but it is more of a permeable layer for most of what we put on it to pass through and go straight into our blood stream, like harmful chemicals in skincare products. Aluminum clogs your pores which keeps you from sweating (hence the name anti-perspirant) - your body's natural way to release toxins and cool down. It's a back and forth battle with experts as to what exactly happens with most chemicals that are absorbed through our skin and what it can do. There is really no cut and dry answer for many health questions and issues and it all depends on the situation with the person. There's conflicting data in proving if aluminum causes breast cancer or alzheimers. Here at Naturally Montana we believe having body care products without harmful chemicals gives us a peace of mind and we feel that we are giving our families (and yours) a healthier lifestyle in doing so! It's not worth the risk if we can live healthier and try to take measures in preventing things from happening to us and our loved ones.
What's with baking soda? Well, baking soda can cause irritation with many people creating a rash that can be painful especially being under your arms, due to messing with your body's PH level. That's why there's no baking soda in DaySpa's deodorants.
